[June 7, 2024] Mayor Keith R. Sydnor cordially invites all residents to a special ceremony at the Joesph R. Robison Municipal Center on Wednesday, June 19th. The Laurel Juneteenth Committee will raise the Juneteenth flag in celebration of freedom and unity. This significant occasion commemorates the emancipation of enslaved African Americans and reminds us of the importance of liberty and equality for all.
The flag-raising ceremony will begin at 12:00 pm. It is a moment for our community to honor our shared history, recognize the enduring contributions of African Americans, and renew our commitment to justice and inclusion.
Your presence will make this event even more meaningful as we stand united in acknowledging our past and looking forward to a brighter, more equitable future.
