Are You Prepared for the upcoming Hurricane Season? Mayor Keith R. Sydnor would like everyone to stay in the know and be ready for an active 2024 Hurricane Season, which lasts from June 1st to November 30th.
This season the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) is predicting an above average hurricane season and is calling for 17 to 25 named storms, with 4 - 7 major hurricanes set to impact Southern and Eastern coastal States. We urge all individuals and communities to prepare with us for potential severe weather.
When is the best time to prepare for a hurricane? NOW! Here are some ways you can be ready:

- Assemble a Disaster Kit - Following a storm you may be without power or access to food and water for several days.
