Birthday and Anniversary Greetings
The Mayor offers a letter of congratulations to residents celebrating a 60th birthday and over, and couples celebrating a 25th wedding anniversary and over.
Letters of Support and Congratulations
The Mayor offers greeting letters to sports, culture, and other organizations for their event programs. Please send an email to the Office of the Mayor with the name, date and location of the event; the name of the organization; and any background that would be useful, such as how many years the event has been running, volunteer involvement, etc. Messages are often printed in event programs or officially displayed at public functions. All requests will be reviewed by the Mayor's Executive Assistant, who will contact you if further information is required.
Request a Proclamation
Proclamations are ceremonial documents issued and signed by the Mayor to recognize the value and importance of a person, an event, a campaign, or an organization for a certain day, week or month. Acknowledgment is normally given to reward the efforts and commitment of individuals and organizations that enhance our community and are significant to Laurel-area residents. To request a Proclamation for your public awareness campaign, charitable fundraising campaign, and arts and culture celebrations, please send an email to the Office of the Mayor.
Request a Flag Raising
Residents and organizations may request a flag to be raised by the Mayor at the community flag pole in the Courtyard at the Joseph R. Robison Laurel Municipal Center for purposes such as recognition of charitable fundraising campaigns or events. Requests are subject to availability and other requirements/conditions. Please contact the Office of the Mayor for more information.
Invite the Mayor to an Event
The Mayor regularly attends events, openings, celebrations, and ceremonies throughout the City of Laurel. Individuals and organizations wishing to invite the Mayor to an event must first submit a formal request in writing to the Office of the Mayor by letter or email the Office of the Mayor. All invitations will be reviewed by the Mayor's Executive Assistant, who will contact you if further information is required. Please note that due to an extremely full schedule, the Mayor is not able to accept every invitation.
