Severe Weather Alert - WINTER STORM WARNING

The National Weather Service has issued a WINTER STORM WARNING for the City of Laurel effective from 11:00 PM Saturday, January 24th to 4:00 AM on Monday, January 26th. Total accumulations of snow between 7 – 14 inches are expected across the State of Maryland. Snowfall will be heavy at times with rates of 1 – 2 inches per hour. Power outages and tree damage are likely due to the ice. Travel will be extremely dangerous and nearly impossible. Hazardous conditions could impact the Monday morning commute.

A prolonged period of dangerous wind chills in the teens and single digits will begin tonight and last through next week. Sub-zero wind chills are possible at times. The Department of Emergency Management will continue to monitor the weather and provide updates as necessary.
