Zoning Applications

The City of Laurel is committed to its core value of community safety and is proactively taking steps to limit the potential social spreading of COVID-19. To accommodate social distancing recommendations, we are offering many services remotely.

Anyone wishing to apply for a zoning application with the City of Laurel must create an online account. Please visit our ePermits page for more information and to access the RAP permits ePortal to create your account.

All fees are due at the time of submission. Fees are non-refundable, regardless of the outcome of a case. Every application must be accompanied by the appropriate plans, rendering, statements and other documents. If the applicant is not the owner for the property in question, a letter from the property owner acknowledging and consenting to the actions proposed must be provided with the application. Be sure to include a copy of the zoning application with your online submittal in the attachments section.

If you have a project you would like to apply for, please contact staff for a pre-application meeting first.

View the Pre Application Sheet (PDF).

***All Meetings will be held at 6:00pm and will be either Virtual or In-Person. Please check with staff***

Please contact the department for zoning application and hearing information

All pending cases are required to have a zoning public hearing notice sign (i.e. a Zoning Sign) posted onsite visible from a public right-of-way at least two weeks prior to a case's scheduled public hearing. This sign is provided by staff but must be posted by the applicant. Failure to do so can cause delay in your review and approval process.

If you are seeking a permit for a Parade/Public Assembly, those permits are issued by the City Administrator's Office.

View the Parade/Public Assembly Permits page to access that page for information on obtaining the permit.
