The Safe Winter Nights program is a continuation of Councilman Mills’ Safe Fall Nights Program

The program kicks off on Friday, December 20, 2024, and will be held at the Laurel Armory Anderson & Murphy Community Center, located at 422 Montgomery Street, Laurel, Maryland. City residents, ages 12-16, are welcome to attend. Participants will enjoy enriching activities such financial literacy classes offered by Navy Federal Credit Union, computer coding instruction, games, arts and crafts, and other exciting activities hosted by various local businesses.

Councilman Mills will continue the overall goal of creating an environment where our youth can have fun while learning and growing. The program promotes community engagement by bringing together youth, families, local organizations, and law enforcement in a positive and collaborative environment; offers youth development through mentorship, counseling, and skill-building activities; and helps to reduce crime and violence by creating a safe space for our children during the hours of 6 pm to 8 pm
