City of Laurel Celebrates Economic Development Week in Maryland

The City of Laurel’s Department of Economic and Community Development (ECD), in partnership with the Maryland Economic Development Association (MEDA), will celebrate Maryland Economic Development Week from October 20–24, 2025.

Since 2011, Economic Development Week has highlighted the transformative impact of economic development on communities and individuals across Maryland. Throughout the week, organizations statewide will host events and activities showcasing efforts to strengthen business retention, promote job growth, and enhance the quality of life for residents.

As part of the celebration, the Department of Economic and Community Development, in partnership with the BOW Institute, will host a special workshop titled “BOW Knows Small Business on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Joseph R. Robison Laurel Municipal Center, 8103 Sandy Spring Road, Laurel, MD 20707. This free event for local businesses will explore key topics such as leveraging AI for business growth, strengthening leadership skills, and managing finances effectively.
