Some major enhancements are taking place in Riverfront Park this month.
Two pedestrian bridges are being replaced.
To get the work done safely and efficiently, part of the path from Avondale Street to B Street will be closed for four to six weeks beginning about August 7th.
The Department of Parks and Recreation has been working with Century Engineering on the project which will enable crews to perform routine park and tree maintenance, remove debris, perform shoreline restoration, and make other repairs that require the use of a vehicle.
The new bridges will also allow for police and fire personnel to access the path during emergencies.
