14 karat gold ring stolen from a home by an unknown person.

12/28/11 900 Block White Way
Apple I-Phone stolen from inside a home.

12/29/11 800 Block Fifth Street
Apple I-POD, U.S. Currency, Silver necklace and Beausoleil sunglasses stolen from a parked car.

DeWalt generator stolen from the bed of a parked truck.

01/02/12 700 Park Avenue
Copper pipes stolen from under a vacant house.

01/03/12 7400 Block Van Dusen Road
Power and hand tools stolen from a storage trailer.

01/04/12 300 Block Montrose Avenue
U.S. Currency stolen from an ATM machine after the victim left his ATM card in the ATM.  A black male driving a black VW was observed using the card by bank video.

01/05/12 14000 Block Laurel Place
Five vehicles were broken into while parked at three restaurants. Taken was the following property: Beretta 9mm handgun, Tom Tom GPS system, HP laptop computer, Computer carrying case, Garmin GPS system and a Motorola cell phone.

Stack Go steering fluid flushing device stolen from a storage area at a tire store.

01/06/12 400 Block Montgomery Street
Kindle Fire Electronic book reader stolen from stolen after being delivered to a residence door by the U.S. Postal Service.

STOLEN AUTOS

01/03/12 Unit Block Second Street
2012 Hyundai Sonata, 4 door, Gray in color with Virginia tags XCS9312. This car was leased and never returned to rental agency. A warrant has been obtained for the person who rented the vehicle.

BURGLARIES

12/25/11 1100 Block Beall Place
Laurel Police received a call for a burglary in progress and the house was on fire. Police arrived a found the owner of the home visibly shaken. The victim told police the suspect was still inside her home and he started a fire by setting a holiday wreath on fire between her front and storm doors. Police found the suspect inside the front room. The suspect began to struggle with officers during the arrest. The suspect was transported to an area hospital for smoke inhalation and was admitted. The fire department may sure the fire was extinguished. The suspect was identified has a 29 year old Daniel Carrillo-Romero of Laurel. The defendant is charged with burglary and arson and incarcerated in the county detention center.

12/27/11 7800 Block Contee Road
Entry gained through the front door. Taken was the following property:  Mac Book Pro computer and a Net Book computer.

12/31/11 7600 Block Carissa Lane
No signs of forced entry. Taken was Six Star kitchen knives and a Louis Vuitton wallet. Recovered from the basement was a Sears 12ga shotgun that did not belong to the home owners.

01/08/12 600 Block Eighth Street
Entry gained by forcing open a door on a storage shed. Taken was a Riding l Club Cadet lawnmower, yellow and white in color and a Snow Blower from St Marks Methodist Church Shed.

ROBBERIES

12/29/11 600 Block Washington Boulevard
Police are investigating an attempted armed robbery at Ace Check Cashing. A subject approached the front door where the employee was standing, the employee observed the subject holding a handgun at which time the employee locked the door not allowing the suspect to enter. The suspect fled to an awaiting car with two other subjects inside and drove south on Route One. The suspect was described as a black male, 5’05” – 5’08”, wearing dark clothing and a mask, armed with a handgun. The vehicle the suspects fled in was a black Nissan Infinity, 4 door with Maryland tags.

01/04/12 300 Block Compton Avenue
Police are investigating an armed robbery where three men entered an office building armed with a handgun and demanded rent money. The employee a 75 year old female told the suspects they did not have any money, the suspects took money from the employees purse then placed her on the floor where they bound her hands and feet with tape. The suspects then went into another business inside the same building where they found another employee a 64 year old female they also took money from her purse and made her walked to the room where the first victim was and placed her on the floor and bound her hands and feet. The suspects fled the area in a silver car in an unknown direction.  The suspects are described as follows:  Black male, 20 years of age, 5’10-6’, average build, wearing a black shiny pullover, black shiny sweatpants. Black knit cap, brown gloves, white tennis shoes, black mask covering his face and armed with a grey semi-automatic handgun. Suspect # 2- lack male, 6’01’- 6’02”, 30-40 YEARS OF AGE, MUSCULAR BUILD, DEEP VOICE, WEARING A DARK ZIP UP JACKET, BLACK SKI MASK, ARMED WITH A HANDGUN. Suspect# 3 Black male NFD.

01/06/12 900 Block Nichols Drive
The victim a 16 year old Laurel youth reported to police that he was stopped by two men as he was walking home who demanded money while displaying a handgun. The suspects took the victims Samsung cell phone, Calvin Klein brown jacket and a brown hat. The suspect then told the youth to keep walking. The suspects fled on foot towards Phillip Powers Drive. The suspects are described as follows: Black males, 25-30 years of age, 160-200 lbs., wearing a black jacket, black pants, Black hat with red lettering armed with a handgun.
Suspect# 2 – Black male, 5’08”, 25-30 years of age, 200- 230 lbs., wearing a black hooded coat, Black pants and White shoes
