Online Services

The City of Laurel offers several services online.  In order to use these services, you must register with the City by creating a user account on our self-service portal. 

Currently the self service portal allows online payments for certain Building Permits, Business Licenses and Accounts Receivable.  Specific user information and help is available on the respective business segment webpages.

 

Online Payments

Existing On-Line Customer Accounts

All existing users can access their accounts using the link:  Log In 
 

New User Account Set Up

You must create a new account to apply for permits and licenses and to pay your license fees or accounts receivable bill with our online system. The following steps will take you through the account creation process:

  1. Access the Create New User Account page.
  2. Input your current email address, name, phone number and the password you would like to use. Please enter it twice to ensure you have it typed correctly. 
  3. An email will then be sent to your email address. This email will contain a link to confirm that you have entered your correct e-mail address.  When you respond using the link in the email your account will be enabled. You may then proceed to log in to your account on the main page.
  4. After you log in, please select "Edit Profile" and fill in your user information.

 

Linking Business License Account to Make Online Payments

To link your Business License (Includes Rental License)  account to your online services account, please follow these instructions:

  1. Once you are logged in, select "Business Licenses" listed under Available Services on the right-hand side.
  2. Select "Manage Associations" on the right-hand side.
  3. Select "Add Licensee Association"
  4. You will need your rental license number.*If you are applying for a new rental license, you will not have a license number*
  5. Complete all required information on the form.    
  6. Select "Submit."

 

At this point, the submission will be reviewed by an administrator to ensure that you are linked to the correct account. This process may take up to 24-48 hours.

Once the account has been confirmed, you will receive an Email confirming that your account has been created and that you can pay your fees online.

You can have more than one rental license associated with your account.  You can select the license number to see detailed information about the license and pay fees.

Please note that you will need to follow this process to:

1. Pay for rentals that have previously been submitted 

2. To apply for a new rental license.

 

Linking Your Permit Registration to View Permits and Inspections

To link your Permit Registration to your online services account, please follow these instructions:

  1. Once you are logged in, select "Permits and Inspections" listed under Available Services on the right-hand side.
  2. Select "Manage Registration"
  3. Select "Register to View Permits and Inspections Online"
  4. Complete all required information on the form.
  5. Select "Submit"

At this point, the submission will be reviewed by an administrator to ensure that you are linked to the correct account. This process may take up to 24-48 hours.

Once the account has been confirmed, you will receive an Email confirming that your account has been created and that you can now view permits and inspections online.

Please note that you will need to follow this process to:

1. View permits that have previously been submitted 

2. To apply for a new permit.

The Office of the Fire Marshal and Permit Services is charged with enforcing City Codes and Ordinances relating to building and property standards.
