Sports Leagues FAQs

Below, you will find a list of the most commonly asked questions regarding our adult sports leagues.  If you require further information, please contact the adult sports league coordinator at (301) 497-0300.

Q: Do I have to register as a team or can I register for a league by myself?
A: Currently, our registrations are taken as teams and the fees are for entire franchises. We will, however, be glad to take individual player names and add them to our individuals player’s list. This list is provided to teams (upon request) allowing team managers to call interested players if they are in need.

Q: What exactly does the franchise fee cover? Is there anything I need to provide or pay for that is not covered by the franchise fee?
A: The franchise fee covers certified officials, game balls, awards, administration, field/gym reservations, league staff, NSA registration (softball), and light fees (softball). Each team is responsible for providing their own team jerseys (w/ #’s on the back). Also, individual equipment (i.e. – softball bats, gloves, etc.) is the responsibility of each team.

Q: What, if any, awards are given out?
A:  Currently, sponsorship awards are given to the first place finishers for both the regular season and playoffs. Individual awards are given to the playoff championship team.   Occasionally, additional team awards are presented.

Q:   How many players are you allowed on your roster? Can you add or drop players during the season? If so, how many are you permitted to add or drop and when is the deadline?
A:  Your roster may hold a maximum of the following number of players:
20 players (Softball)
15 players (Basketball)

You may add additional players up until the player addition/deletion deadline.  Refer to your league rules for limitations and deadlines.
The Roster, Player Addition, and Player Deletion forms can all be obtained through our website by clicking on the downloads section.

Q:  Is our team required to wear uniforms? If so, are #'s required on the back?
A:  Yes, all players are asked to wear team uniforms consisting of the same color with 8" #'s on the back.
