Main Street Business Relocation Grant Program

The purpose of the Main Street Business Relocation Grant Program is meant to help defer the costs of physically moving an existing business to a vacant storefront or to assist in the start-up of a new business, also to a vacant storefront.

Main Street Retail Storefront Façade Improvement Program

The intent of the Main Street Retail Storefront Façade Improvement Program is to provide funding to improve the appearance of the Main Street area of the City.

Main Street Sign Grant Program

The intent of the Main Street Sign Grant Program is to provide funding to upgrade the appearance, property value, and economic activity on commercial buildings fronting Main Street area.

Economic & Community Development

The Department of Economic and Community Development maintains and oversees the built environment within the City of Laurel. The department is responsible for zoning compliance, subdivision and development review, historic preservation review, economic development, affordable housing, and implementation of the City’s Master Plan. These activities are intended to improve the life quality in the City. Department staff strive to provide these services in a timely and efficient manner while promoting high-quality development which is compliant with State of Maryland regulations and statutes.
