On Wednesday, November 4th the Department of Public Works will be offering a super special FREE pickup to collect your Halloween Jack O’ Lanterns, Pumpkins and Gourds!   Carved, whole, or painted pumpkins (water-based paint only) and gourds are acceptable for this pickup. Please be sure to remove all candles, fake web and plastic decorations.  Pumpkins and gourds should be placed curbside by 7 AM on Wednesday morning.

Do your part to help the environment! These compostable vegetables will be collected by our Organics Recycling truck and taken to Maryland Environmental Services where they can be turned into organic compost instead of winding up in the landfill with regular trash.

You will need to schedule this FREE pickup. If you have pumpkins or gourds for pickup please email ([email protected]) or call (301-725-0088) by Monday, November 2nd to make your request.
