Released on March 2, 2018 - 8:18am

As the winds pick up in Laurel today, March 2, 2018, the Department of Public Works will still be out and picking up trash and recycling as normal.  If residents prefer to wait until their next regularly scheduled trash or recycling day to put their refuse and recycling out because of the wind they are welcome to do so.  However, the City will be picking up today like normal and no changes to refuse and recycling collections are anticipated at this time.

Please also be aware that with the high winds your trash and recycle containers may be blown away from your home.  Our drivers will be laying containers down after emptying them in an attempt to help prevent wandering receptacles.

If you have any questions or concerns do not hesitate to reach out to the Department of Public works at 301-725-0088 or [email protected]
