Volunteers in Police Service

The Volunteers in Police Service (V.I.P.S.) Program is designed to involve community and civilian volunteers in non-enforcement roles within the Police Department and other municipal goverment roles.

Volunteers generally serve in such fuctions as:

  • crime prevention
  • security surveys
  • communications
  • management planning
  • personnel services
  • photo lab
  • traffic safety
  • training
  • records
  • fingerprinting
  • other tasks


Your police service believes in Community Policing - solving community problems with the assistance of members of the community. We will train you to support police officers, freeing them for tasks that require professional expertise.
