Public Transportation Options

Laurel is serviced by a number of public transportation agencies.  Below are links to their web sites and route maps:

Metro Bus (202-637-7000) - The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority operates several bus routes that pass through Laurel.

RTA Bus Transit (1-800-270-9553) - The Regional Transportation Agency of Central Maryland (RTA) is a transportation organization to serve the residents of Laurel, Northern Prince George’s County, Howard County and Anne Arundel County.  For schedule information or to purchase tickets to ride, please call.


MARC Train System (410-539-5000) - a commuter rail system whose service areas include Harford County, Maryland; Baltimore City; Washington D.C.; Brunswick, Maryland; Frederick, Maryland and Martinsburg, West Virginia.

Special Needs Transportation Options

MetroAccess (202-637-7000) - a shared-ride, door-to-door, paratransit service for people whose disability prevents them from using bus or rail.

Call-a-Cab (301-883-5656) - a transportation assistance program at a reduced cost for seniors (age 60 and over) and disabled residents. Coupon books can be purchased and used with participating cab companies when Metro or Call-A-Bus are unavailable.

Call-A-Bus (301-883-5656) - a demand response curb-to-curb services.  Service is available to all residents of Prince George's County who are not served by or cannot use existing bus or rail services. However, priority is given to seniors and persons with disabilities.
