Leaf Vacuuming is Starting!
Mayor Craig A. Moe is pleased to announce that the Department of Public Works will begin its leaf collection program on Monday, October 17, 2022 and continue through Friday, December 9, 2022, weather permitting.
To find out what day the Leaf Vacuum Truck will be in your neighborhood, check out the map below. That’s also the day you should place any paper-bagged leaves at the curb for collection. Do not put any sticks, branches or plant material in the bag of leaves. Call DPW to schedule a Yard Debris pickup for that waste.
How to prepare for leaf vacuum day
- Rake your leaves into the grass between your sidewalk and the street. If you have no median, rake them into the gutter. City crews will not vacuum leaves from private property or from alleys.
- Make sure to rake your leaves the day before your collection time because the vacuum truck won’t return until the following week if you miss it.
- Please remove parked cars from the path of the leaf vacuum.
- Remove all cans, bottles, sticks, toys and debris from your piles of leaves. These items can cause very expensive damage to the City’s equipment and prevent us from collecting your leaves.
