Today is America Recycles Day! Mayor Craig A. Moe and the City of Laurel has unveiled a new look for its existing BigBelly trash and recycling containers.
The new Bigbellys are a stunning lime green with the Think Green message surrounding the city seal.
Mayor Craig A. Moe hopes the face lift will draw people to the bins and encourage them to place recyclables and trash in the right place.
“They’re a great way to keep our streets, sidewalks, parks and City Clean,” he says.
Furthermore, the bins have solar powered, built-in trash compactors, that can hold more than a regular trash container.
“This allows our crews to collect from them less frequently, which assists in keeping our trucks off the road and reducing carbon emissions “the Mayor says.
More BigBellys are coming in January 2022 and will have message panels highlighting City events.
