A day to honor those who died in our military service, Mayor Craig A. Moe has announced that City and Passport Offices will be closed on Monday, May 31, 2021, in observance of Memorial Day.This will mean a change in the trash and recycling schedule for the week of May 30th:
- Monday’s Residential and Commercial Refuse and Recycling will be picked up on Tuesday, June 1st.
- Tuesday’s Residential Refuse and Recycling will be picked up on Wednesday, June 2nd.
- Wednesday, Thursday and Friday Refuse, Recycling and Composting pickups will be unchanged.
- There will be no Special Bulky Item pickups or Yard Debris pickups that Wednesday on June 2nd.
The next regularly scheduled Special Bulky Item pickup and Yard Debris collections will be on Wednesday, June 9th. You can schedule a Bulky Item Special Pickup by either e-mailing [email protected], calling the Department of Public Works at 301-725-0088 or you can sign up and submit your special pick up request through the MyLaurel app on the homepage of the City’s website, cityoflaurel.org.
Also, the Annual Joint Memorial Day Service at Ivy Hill Cemetery will be held on Sunday, May 30th, with the wreath laying ceremonies at 10:00am and the service will begin at 11:00am. You can watch it Live on our Facebook page, City of Laurel – Government.
On Memorial Day, Monday, May 31st, you can watch an enhanced version with additional video on Laurel TV at Noon and 6:00pm on Comcast 996 (HD)/71, Verizon 12 or via livestream at Laureltv.org.
