Mayor Craig A. Moe is looking for volunteers to support the planning and redevelopment of the University of Maryland Laurel Medical Center Campus by serving on the Local Board to advise the UM Capital Region Health Board of Directors on community issues, concerns and ways to support the UM Laurel Medical Center Campus.

Volunteers should have backgrounds in some of the following areas: 

  • Medical
  • Mental health
  • Finance and
  • Business administration. 

The goal is for the Board to be comprised of interested citizen volunteers who reflect the diversity of the community, including a diverse range of races, ethnicities, genders, socioeconomic status, and persons with disabilities.

Interested volunteers should submit letters of interest and resumes via email to [email protected] or by mail to City of Laurel, Office of Mayor Craig A. Moe, 8103 Sandy Spring Road, Laurel, Maryland 20707.  Resumes should not be more than 4 pages in length. Letters should indicate an interest or expertise in one or more of the areas mentioned above and, if desired, may include how the background and/or experience of the volunteer would contribute to the Local Board. Please include home address, contact number, and email address. 

Applications must be received no later than 4:00pm on October 12, 2020. Soon after the closing date, resumes and letters will be reviewed, and applicants will be selected for interviews. Successful applicants will be notified shortly thereafter of their appointment via regular mail or email.
