The City of Laurel’s 150th Anniversary celebration has had its challenges.

The coronavirus has forced the cancellation of many events.

But now Mayor Craig A. Moe wants you to know we’ve come up with a fun and safe way to recognize the actual day Laurel was incorporated as the Town of Laurel 150 years ago-on April 4, 1870.

Print out the attached logo and have your family color it, paint it, put glitter on it, decorate however you like. Even better, create your own design for our 150th and use that.

Here’s the really fun part.

  • Take a photo of your crew holding your logo.
  • Put it on your window by 3pm on April 4th.
  • Email the pic to [email protected]. Include your address

to make it easy for us to find you.

We’ll have spotters out looking for your logos in the window, cameras in hand.

Your photos may end up on the City of Laurel-government Facebook page, on our Social Media sites, or in our commemorative yearbook.

Let’s celebrate Laurel’s 150th birthday together—even while social distancing.
