Mayor Craig A. Moe and Laurel City Council President Keith Sydnor have agreed that the City of Laurel business should continue to move forward while dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic.

Effective Monday, March 23, 2020, and until further notice, the Mayor and City Council meetings will be held as scheduled, but will not permit members of the general public to enter the Laurel Municipal Center. The Mayor and City Council will be meeting virtually.

The meetings can be viewed by tuning to Laurel TV, Comcast channel 996 / 71 and Verizon channel 12; by watching it streamed on the internet at or live on Facebook, at the City of Laurel’s Facebook page.

It is important to have citizen participation with your local government, so during the virtual Mayor and City Council meeting, the public may call in at 240-294-1308 to testify on legislation and the public comment section, when permitted by the City Council President.  No questions will be taken on Facebook Live, you must call in.

The City Council Work Sessions will also be held virtually, but no public testimony will be permitted. The first City Council Work Session will be held on Wednesday, April 1, 2020, and will continue virtually on the first Wednesday of each month until further notice.

All Mayor and City Council meetings start at 7:00pm and Council Work Sessions also start at 7:00 pm.
