The City of Laurel will celebrate 150 years in 2020 and Mayor Craig A. Moe is inviting everyone to join us in launching the yearlong celebration!

We’ve created a 150th Anniversary website and packed it with everything you need to know to celebrate this major milestone all year long.  You’ll find it at 150.cityoflaurel.org

Be sure to check out the Support Us section.  Members of our community have been giving generously to help make the year a success. It’s not too late for you to be a Sponsor also. Or maybe you’d like to buy a brick for our Memorial Garden as a lasting tribute of your support for our 150th.

The media and public are invited to attend the kickoff event, which is set for January 13, 2020, at 6:00 pm in the Council Chambers of the Laurel Municipal Center at 8103 Sandy Spring Road, Laurel, MD. 20707.

You’ll hear all about the 36 events the 150th Anniversary Committee has put together from January to December and learn about the Passport Rewards Program.

Get your specially designed Anniversary Passport stamped at each event you attend. Those with the most stamps at the end of the year will be eligible for some amazing prizes.

Mark your calendars now for February 2, 2020. The new Laurel Museum Exhibit, “Unpacking Laurel’s Past: 150 Years on Display,” will be your first opportunity for a stamp in your passport.

Be sure to follow us on Social Media on the City of Laurel Government Facebook Page, and Instagram, and on Twitter @laurelis150.

Celebrate 150 years with us in 2020!
