Released on November 5, 2019 - 9:42am

Mayor Craig A. Moe wishes to remind you that City and Passport Offices will be closed on Monday, November 11, 2019 in observance of Veterans’ Day. Our Veterans have sacrificed so much to ensure the freedoms we enjoy and we encourage everyone to honor and thank our Veterans throughout the year, but especially on Veterans’ Day.

The Department of Public Works will be picking up trash and recycling on an altered schedule that week:

  • Monday Trash and Recycling pickup will be on Tuesday, November 12th (residential and commercial).
  • Tuesday Trash and Recycling pickup will be on Wednesday, November 13th (residential only).
  • Wednesday, Thursday and Friday Trash and Recycling and Composting pickups are unchanged.

There will also be no Residential Special Pickup or Yard Debris collection that week. Our next scheduled Residential Special Pickup and Yard Debris collection will be on Wednesday, November 20, 2019.

You can schedule a Residential Special Pickup and Yard Debris Pickup by e-mailing [email protected], using the MyLaurel App or calling the Department of Public Works at 301-725-0088.

Public Works will also suspend leaf collection with their vacuum on Monday, November 11, 2019. If your regular leaf vacuum day is Monday, the vacuum will return on the following Monday, November 18, 2019.

Thank you for your cooperation and please have a safe and happy holiday.
