Released on October 23, 2019 - 1:23pm

Mayor Craig A. Moe has announced that the City of Laurel Information Technology (IT) Department will be upgrading the City’s credit card machines on Monday, October 28, 2019. Credit card payments will not be accepted starting at 2:30pm at all City facilities, with the exception of transactions within the Department of Parks and Recreation.

The City’s credit card machine upgrade will affect:

  • Residents and businesses coming in to the Laurel Municipal Center to pay bills.
  • Passport applicants paying processing fees.
  • Those applying for permits/licenses.
  • Payments at the Laurel Police Department for parking tickets, impound fees and police report fees.
  • Online payments.

The Department of Budget and Personnel Services will still be able to accept checks, money orders and cash, so we ask if you plan on coming into the City for business on the afternoon of Monday, October 28th, please plan accordingly. The City’s IT and Budget and Personnel Departments will work as quickly as possible to complete the upgrade.

Mayor Moe asks everyone to monitor the City of Laurel’s Social Media sites on October 28th for updates on when the upgrade is done and we will once again be able to accept credit cards.

Thank you in advance for your patience during our technological upgrade.
