Mayor Craig A. Moe wants to inform residents and travelers around Oxford Drive in the Laurel Lake area, that beginning this week, crews from the Prince George's County Clean Water Partnership (CWP) will be returning to make repairs to a minor leak in the storm water infrastructure.

The leak was found from the upper lake to the lower lake prior to the construction of the forebays and is eroding the soil on the embankment. The Maryland Department of the Environment required CWP to repair the leak upon completion of the new forebays.

Construction crews will be working on the embankment off Oxford Drive, which will require temporary closure of the sidewalk during hours of operation, which will be Monday – Friday from 7:00am – 5:00pm and Saturdays, as needed, from 8:00am – 5:00pm. Additionally, the water levels will be lowered in the lakes to allow for the work.

The project should be completed within 4 to 6 weeks.

Please contact the Department of Parks and Recreation, 301-725-5300, extension 2306, if you have questions or concerns during the project. For more information or any questions about the project, you may contact CWP at 202-255-6530.

Thank you for your patience.
