Mayor Craig A. Moe encourages residents to gather up your old documents and electronics and come down to Public Works, located at 305-307 First Street, on Saturday, October 19, 2019, from 8:00am to 12:00pm, for the Fall E-cycle and Paper Shredding Event.

This is a very popular event hosted by Public Works, which is for City residents and businesses only. You must show proof of City residency or be able to confirm your Laurel business address to participate. 

Since not every location in "Laurel, Maryland" is within the city boundaries, please be sure to check your address in advance!  You can call the Department of Economic and Community Development at 301-725-5300 ext. 2303 or visit the City’s web site,, to check the map for your address.

Electronics that can be recycled include:

  • Electronic devices that are used for entertainment media such as movies, music, video games and their accessories.  
  • Computer monitors, keyboards, printers and CPUs.
  • CD/DVD/VCR players.
  • Radios, stereos and speakers.
  • Game stations.
  • Things such as microwaves, vacuum cleaners, blenders, toaster ovens and other electrical items that may have a digital display are NOT considered electronics for this event.

You should also go through and gather any important, outdated paperwork since Chesapeake Paper Systems will be on site to shred your documents safely.
