Released on September 25, 2019 - 2:20pm

Mayor Craig A. Moe has announced that the City of Laurel Information Technology Department will be upgrading the City’s computer network, which will affect the City’s and Police Department’s phone system, on September 26, 2019, from 5:30am – 6:30am.

During the upgrade, the Laurel Police Department’s emergency number, 301-725-3000, will be unavailable. Chief Russell Hamill has spoken with Mayor Moe and the contingency plan for this short outage will have callers dialing 911 in case of an emergency. The 911 operators will be aware of the City’s computer/phone upgrade issue and will notify our officers if callers are in need of assistance.

Mayor Moe asks everyone to monitor the City of Laurel and Laurel Police Department’s Social Media sites on September 26th for the latest information and to know when the phone system will once again be available.

Please make a note of this upgrade and date and thank you in advance for your patience during our technological upgrade.
