Released on July 11, 2019 - 2:41pm

Mayor Craig A. Moe invites you to Laurel Parks and Recreation’s Touch-A-Truck event on Monday, July 15, 2019, at Emancipation Park from 6:30 – 8:00pm.

Laurel Parks and Recreation is working in conjunction with the PGCMLS Laurel Library Branch to host this exciting event to celebrate Parks and Recreation Month!

Bring your kids, and those young at heart, to experience this highly popular event, where you cannot only see, but also touch and get inside all types of equipment from fire engines to construction equipment!

To accommodate all these wonderful super-sized pieces of equipment, the City will be closing down 8th Street from West Street to Laurel Avenue starting at 4:00pm until 8:00pm that evening, so please find alternate routes to get you through this part of the city. However, access for all Emergency vehicles will be maintained during this closure.

To learn more about this, and all the other wonderful Discovery Monday events, call Laurel Parks and Recreation at 301-725-7800 or visit our website at
