Mayor Craig A. Moe is looking forward to getting out into your neighborhoods and giving out the 2019 Golden Shovel Awards! The season will run May through September and the program recognizes residents in the City of Laurel for their beautification efforts.

New for this year, nominations may be submitted through the City of Laurel website under the Office of the Mayor - Community Outreach Programs tab. Select the Mayor’s Golden Shovel Award and complete the fillable form to submit your nomination!

The following information should be provided; name, phone number, and email address of property owner/tenant and description of improvements made to the property. The property address is required. The person who makes the nomination must provide their name, phone number and email address. 

You can even upload a photo of the property you’re nominating. Members of the City Council and City staff may make nominations as well.  Judging takes place the third week of each month of April – September with award presentations the following week. This award is only open to residential properties in the City.
