If you manage a local youth organization, the Department of Parks and Recreation is currently accepting applications for the Spring Youth Services Commission Grants until February 28, 2019. Grants will be awarded April 15, 2019.

The grants provide limited financial support to those qualifying youth organizations that are not-for-profit and serve the Laurel-area communities with at least 10% of the participants living in the City of Laurel.

Laurel Mayor Craig A. Moe and the Laurel City Council created the Commission to identify, monitor and evaluate youth services, programs, and activities offered in the City of Laurel and surrounding area and they are thrilled with the success of the program. Multiple grants have been issued since the Commission was formed in 2014 and we look forward to all of our local youth organizations taking advantage of this great service.

To apply for a grant, please visit the home page of the City’s website,, and there is a link that will explain the requirements of the grant program, as well as a link to the application.

If you would like more information, please call Jennifer Carmen in Parks and Recreation at 301-725-7800.
