On December 11, 2018, the Laurel Planning Commission recommended denial of Special Exception application 890 to the Laurel Board of Appeals. The application was a request to allow the use of a medical cannabis dispensary at 118 Washington Boulevard.
The Laurel Board of Appeals was scheduled to hear the Special Exception application at the December 20, 2018 meeting.
The applicant, SH Realty Holdings LLC, has requested to move their hearing to the Board of Appeals meeting tentatively scheduled for January 24, 2019.
“In light of the testimony from the members of the community and the decision by the Planning Commission on Tuesday night, and the issues raised by the basis upon which the decision was made, we will need additional time to prepare and to respond appropriately,” SH Realty Holdings.
This item will now be on the Board of Appeals agenda for the meeting tentatively scheduled for January 24, 2019.
The December 20th Board of Appeals meeting will go on as scheduled with two other items on the agenda.
