Hundreds of Laurel residents are participating in National Wreaths Across America Day this year which is December 15, 2018.
It’s a day to remember and honor Veterans and thank them for their service.
Wreath laying ceremonies will take place at Arlington National Cemetery and 1400 other locations, including the Ivy Hill Cemetery in Laurel.
Laurel Mayor Craig A. Moe along with Commander Shirley Luby of the American Legion will host a kickoff event at the Laurel Municipal Center, 8103 Sandy Spring Road, at 11a.m. on December 15th.
After the ceremony, volunteers will be given wreaths and join in a procession across the street to the Ivy Hill Cemetery to place them on the graves of Veterans buried there.
The Media and the public are welcome to attend.
