Laurel Parks and Recreation, working in conjunction with the Laurel Library, is hosting an exciting program, Discovery Mondays, at Emancipation Park in July and this Monday, July 16th, will feature Touch A Truck from 6:00 – 8:00pm!

Mayor Craig A. Moe invites families to come out to experience this highly popular event, where your children can see, touch and get inside all types of equipment from fire engines to construction equipment.

To accommodate all these wonderful super-sized pieces of equipment, the City will be closing down 8th Street from West Street to Laurel Avenue starting at 4:00pm until 8:00pm that evening, so find alternate routes to get you through this part of the city. However, access for all Emergency vehicles will be maintained during this closure.

To learn more about this and all the other wonderful Discovery Monday events, call Laurel Parks and Recreation at 301-725-7800 or visit our website at
