In order to allow the City’s employees to celebrate our Nation’s birthday, Mayor Craig A. Moe has announced that City and Passport Offices will be closed on Wednesday, July 4, 2018, in observance of Independence Day.

The following changes will be made to the refuse/recycling routes if you have a collection on the holiday: Wednesday’s refuse and recycling will be collected on Thursday, July 5, 2018, and there will be NO CHANGE to Thursday’s collection schedule.

Also, there will be no Residential Special Pickup or Yard Debris collection that week. The next special pick up collection will be Wednesday, July 11, 2018. You can schedule a Residential Special Pickup by either e-mailing [email protected], go to our MyLaurel App or call the Department of Public Works at 301-725-0088.

A reminder that Public Works has changed their collection time for the summer to 7am in order to beat the heat. So, either set trash and recycling out early that morning or take advantage of the City Ordinance that allows residents to put out their trash cans and recycling bins after 7:30pm the night before their scheduled collection.

Thank you for your cooperation and we wish you a safe and happy 4th of July.
