For the 12th straight year, the City of Laurel has been named a Banner City by the Maryland Municipal League.

Banner Cities are awarded for showcasing municipal government and how it works, educating youth about municipal government, taking part in League programs and activities, and making sure residents’ voices are heard on key issues that concern them.

Laurel Mayor Craig A. Moe is a leader in the state on this front for the summer job program he created for local teens, and his City Hall in the Park and My Time With The Mayor initiatives.

City leaders will pick up the Banner City award at the MML Summer Convention in Ocean City next week.
