He was chosen from among many other deserving officers throughout Prince George’s County for this distinguished award.

In March, the Central Maryland Chamber of Commerce selected Corporal Johnson as the 2018 Police Officer of the Year.

The 19-year veteran of the Laurel Police Department is a member of the Community Policing Unit. Many call him the unofficial Ambassador for Laurel. He can often be seen riding on the streets of Laurel on his Segway. And he always has time to stop and say hello or help however he can.

Laurel Mayor Craig A. Moe and Police Chief, Richard McLaughlin wish Corporal Johnson a heartfelt congratulations and are proud of the dedication and commitment to excellence he gives to the City of Laurel every day.
