The suspect wanted in connection with the murder of 19-year-old William Harold Riley, Jr of Howard County has been arrested in North Carolina. 

 

Riley, Jr. was found with multiple gunshot wounds in a car in the 15800 block of Millbrook Lane in Laurel on April 24, 2018. He was later pronounced dead at Prince George’s County Hospital. An autopsy ruled the death a homicide. 

 

The Laurel Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division (CID) has been investigating Riley Jr’s death. Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for 18-year-old Steven Jerome Clark, Jr. of Laurel on April 29th - five days after the murder.

 

With the assistance of the Prince George’s County Sheriff’s Office, U.S. Marshals Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force (CARFTF) and the U.S. Marshals Service Violent Fugitive Task Force (VFTF), Clark, Jr. was located at the home of a family member in the 1100 block of Queen Street in Wilmington, North Carolina at about 10:30 pm on May 21, 2018.

 

The suspect attempted to flee as Task Force members approached, but was quickly apprehended. Clark, Jr. was booked in New Hanover County and is now awaiting extradition to Maryland.  

 

Laurel Mayor Craig A.
