Mayor Craig A. Moe has announced that the City of Laurel Information Technology Department will be upgrading the City’s financial system on May 2, 2018, and it is expected to take most of the day.
During the upgrade, the City’s credit card system will be down which will affect residents coming in to the Laurel Municipal Center to pay bills, passport applicants paying processing fees, businesses applying for permits/licenses and payments at the Laurel Police Department for parking tickets, impound fees and police report fees. Also, online payments will not be available for license fees and refuse billing during the upgrade.
The Department of Finance will still be able to accept checks, money orders and cash, so we ask if you plan on coming into the City for business on Wednesday, May 2nd, please plan accordingly, since credit cards will not be accepted during the system upgrade. The City’s IT and Finance Departments will work as quickly as possible to complete the upgrade.
Mayor Moe asks everyone to monitor the City of Laurel’s Social Media sites on May 2nd for updates on when the financial system upgrade is done and we will once again be able to accept credit cards.
Thank you in advance for your patience during our technological upgrade.
