Unveiling of the City of Laurel Memorial Garden

Mayor Craig A. Moe, the Laurel City Council, American Legion Post 60 and First Responders invite the public and media to the unveiling of the City’s Memorial Garden on Sunday, May 28, 2017, starting around 12:30pm at the

Laurel Municipal Center

8103 Sandy Spring Rd.

Laurel, MD 20707.

The media and public are invited to share in this momentous occasion as the City unveils monuments to Marcus Colbert, a City employee who was lost to us in January 2017; those brave souls the Country lost at Pearl Harbor in 1941; and remembering and honoring those Veterans who gave their lives for the freedoms we all enjoy. These monuments will join the 9/11 Memorial that was unveiled in September 2016.

The media is asked to please be set up by Noon and RSVP to [email protected].

Everyone is also invited to the Ivy Hill Memorial Day Ceremony on the same day, starting at 10:30am. The American Legion Post 60, along with the Laurel Police Department, Laurel Volunteer Fire Department and Laurel Volunteer Rescue Squad, will lay wreaths at their memorial walls. This will be followed by a Memorial Day Remembrance Ceremony at 11am, also at Ivy Hill Cemetery.

Refreshments will be available at the Laurel Municipal Center and lunch will follow at the Laurel Volunteer Fire Department, 7411 Cherry Lane.
