Released on February 6, 2017 - 3:20pm

With Presidents Washington and Lincoln’s birthdays just around the corner, Mayor Craig A. Moe would like to remind residents and businesses that City and Passport Offices will be closed on Monday, February 20, 2017, in observance of Presidents’ Day.

Monday’s residential and commercial refuse and recycling will be collected on Tuesday, February 21, 2017, and Tuesday’s residential refuse and recycling will be collected on Wednesday, February 22, 2017. There will be no change to Wednesday’s regular commercial and residential refuse/recycling collection schedule.

There will also be no Residential Special Pickup or Yard Debris collection the week of February 20, 2017. The next collection date will be on Wednesday, March 1, 2017.  You can schedule a Residential Special Pickup and Yard Debris Pickup by either e-mailing [email protected], using the MyLaurel App, or calling the Department of Public Works at 301-725-0088.

Mayor Moe is also reminding everyone that City Code does not allow refuse or recycling to be placed out to the curb for collection until after 7:30pm the night before the scheduled collection and that all refuse and recycling containers must be returned by 7:30pm the day of the collection to either your garage or placed in the rear of your home. To do so in either situation is a violation of City Code and subject to citation.

Thank you for your cooperation and we wish you a safe and happy Presidents’ Day.
