Mayor Craig A. Moe  and the Laurel City Council extend condolences  to the family of former City Councilmember Paul Duncan who passed away on January 12, 2017. He was 81 years old.

 

Mr. Duncan served on the Laurel City Council from 1998-2000 representing Ward 2. He also served on the Senior Citizens Citizens Advisory Committee and the Public Safety CAC.

 

 

Prior to moving to Colorado to be with his family, Duncan had lived in the same house on Belle Ami Drive since 1973.  His son, Scott Carlson, says his dad’s neighbors will remember him as a former Marine and a huge dog lover.  He worked with the City of Laurel handling Animal Control issues.

 

Paul Duncan is survived by his son Scott, Scott’s wife Cheryl Carlson, grandsons Chad Carlson and Kyle Carlson, and his granddaughter Annika Carlson.

 

Visitation is on from 6:00 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, February 2, 2017 at the Donaldson Funeral Home, 313 Talbott Ave, Laurel, MD. 20707.

 

The funeral will be held on Friday, February 3, 2017 at 10:30 a.m.at St. Nicholas Church, 8603 Contee Road, Laurel, MD. 20708.  The public is invited to attend the services.

 

City of Laurel flags will fly at half staff until after the burial.
