The City of Laurel is continuing its effort to improve pedestrian safety.
Two new solar-powered crosswalks are now up and running on Old Sandy Spring Road and Berry Leaf Drive near Sweitzer Park.
To operate the signal, push the button to activate the lights. That will give pedestrians 30 seconds to cross the road safely.
The City of Laurel now has four intersections protected by the LED crosswalks.
They are located at:
- Fifth & Main Street
- B & Main Street
- Cypress Street & Laurel Lakes Avenue
- Old Sandy Spring Road and Berry Leaf Drive
There is also a solar-powered signal at Lafayette Avenue & Main Street to
warn trucks of the height restrictions at the CSX underpass.
