Laurel Mayor Craig A. Moe and the City Council are pleased to announce that the State Highway Administration has agreed to install a new traffic light at the intersection of Talbott Avenue (MD198 Westbound) and Eighth Street. The signal proposal has been under consideration by the State, which announced its approval two weeks ago. As a result of numerous accidents over the years at this intersection, the State of Maryland conducted the study and determined that the intersection met warrants for a signal. The State anticipates that the signal will be installed by mid 2008. Mayor Moe wishes to thank the community, Council President Fred Smalls and all the elected officials for their efforts in making this intersection safer for motorist and pedestrian traffic.
