Mayor Craig A. Moe has received notice of his re- appointment to the National League of Cities Public Safety and Crime Prevention Steering Committee. The Steering Committee is an important component of the NLC that has the responsibility to research agenda topics chosen and draft policy positions for policy and advocacy committee review. The Public Safety and Crime Prevention Committee is responsible for policy in the areas of crime prevention, corrections, substance abuse, municipal fire policy, juvenile justice, disaster preparedness and relief, homeland security, domestic terrorism, court systems, and gun control.
Mayor Moe said he was indeed honored to serve on such an important committee. He said his extensive public safety background has provided him with the experience and expertise to provide meaningful insight and assistance to the Steering Committee. Mayor Moe added he looks forward to participating in the shaping and developing of national policy for municipalities on important public safety and crime prevention topics.
