City of Laurel Mayor Craig A. Moe and Police Chief Dave Crawford have announced the Laurel Police Department will be conducting a sobriety checkpoint on Friday, December 19, 2008.

The primary purpose of the checkpoint is to raise the level of public awareness and inform citizens about the efforts that are being used to identify and apprehend impaired drivers. The sobriety checkpoint will be operational between the hours of 10:00 p.m. until 2:00 a.m. in the 200 block Second Street.
