Mayor Craig A. Moe has announced that City Offices will be closed Thursday, December 25, 2008, in observance of the Christmas Day holiday.

Mayor Moe announced that City Offices will also be closed on Friday, December 26, 2008. Mayor Moe stated this decision was made to conserve energy to avoid opening City buildings for one day before closing them again for the two day weekend. Mayor Moe noted that all lights are turned off and thermostats adjusted for when the buildings are empty. Mayor Moe added that City offices are reduced literally to skeleton crews to assure staff coverage as employees who can take leave do so, to extend their holiday. Mayor Moe stated this action to close is in the best interests of the Citizens of Laurel and the City.
