Mayor Craig A. Moe is pleased to announce the first Mosquito Control
Workshop. In response to citizen concerns regarding mosquito control and
to help residence understand better the City of Laurel’s mosquito
control program, a 2-hour Mosquito Control Workshop will be held on
Wednesday, April 29th at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at the
Municipal Center (8103 Sandy Spring Road, Laurel, Maryland 20707).
The workshop is a joint effort of the Mayor and City Council and the
Maryland Department of Agriculture. The main focus of the workshop will
be providing information about the Asian tiger mosquito, explaining the
different phases of the City’s program and educating residents on how
best to rid their neighborhoods of mosquito breeding sites.
All residents are encouraged to attend the workshop, ask questions and
talk about ways to alleviate the mosquito problem in their
neighborhoods. As seating is limited a RSVP would be appreciated.
If you have any questions or if you can not attend, but would like your
concern brought up at the workshop, please contact Michele Blair at the
Department of Public Works at 301-725-0088, Monday through Friday,
between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. or by e-mail ([email protected]).
