On Saturday, May 16, 2009, from 11:00
a.m. 3:00p.m., Laurel Mayor Craig Moe, Senator Jim Rosapepe, and
Delegates Ben Barnes, Joseline Pea-Melnyk, and Barbara Frush (D 21)
will host a Community Forum on How to Save Money on Taxes &
Financing When Home Values Drop at the Laurel Municipal Center, which
is located at 8103 Sandy Spring Road in Laurel.
Agenda includes discussion of home refinancing, property tax assessment
appeals, how the federal Stimulus can help homeowners, and foreclosure
prevention. The forum will bring together policy-makers, counselors
from local non-profit agencies, banks, legal resources, and fraud
investigators. It is free and open to the public.
