Mayor Craig A. Moe would like to
acknowledge the poster contest winners from Scotchtown Hills Elementary
and St. Mary of the Mills Elementary.

Recently, the Chesapeake Chapter of the American Society of Safety
Engineers obtained drawings that were displayed in the City of Laurel’s
Municipal center lobby. The theme of the posters was Fire Prevention.

The Chesapeake Chapter of the American Society of Safety Engineers
Poster Committee reviewed the posters displayed in the lobby and
selected four winners. Two of the four winners came from Scotchtown
Hills Elementary and the other two came from St. Mary of the Mills
Elementary.

The four winners will be recognized at the May 11, 2009 City of Laurel
Mayor and City Council meeting at 7:00pm and will also receive awards
and be honored for their contribution to safety as part of the American
Society of Safety Engineers celebration of NAOSH – National Association
of Occupational Safety and Health Week.

Mayor Moe thanks all of the students that participated in this process
and congratulates the four winners from area elementary schools. He
looks forward to meeting them and acknowledging their contributions on
May 11, 2009.
